Triscape Architects formed in 2018, when John and Katie decided to form a work partnership and dabble in side projects for close friends and family. Since then it has grown into a passion project with projects across the states of Michigan, and in New York that include residential and small retail and restaurant projects.
Meet The Team

Katie Schulze, RA & NCARB
Principal Architect

Katie has 13 years of professional architectural design experience in the retail, restaurant, office, hospitality, and residential projects throughout the country, and North America. Katie’s expertise focuses on architectural and interior design that has been an asset working on projects from concept design through construction administration on varying project scales. Katie’s passion in thoughtful functional interiors provides an exceptional added detailed layer to the design process.
Katie was the lead designer or Architect on projects including; Testa Barra in Macomb, Michigan, 21 Greenpoint in Manhattan, New York, SoHa Vacation Rental in South Haven, Michigan, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (designed for Troy, Michigan), and at a former employer Tsawwassen Mills Mall in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Interior Design from Michigan State University, as well as a Master of Architecture from Lawrence Technological University. Katie is a Registered Architect in the State of Michigan, and is
NCARB Certified.

John Galwaa, RA & NCARB
Principal Architect

John has 13 years of professional architectural design experience in retail, restaurant, office, entertainment, hospitality, and mixed-use projects throughout the country and abroad. John’s extensive range of skill and experience allow him to carry projects from pre-design planning through construction administration on small- and large-scale projects. John’s experience informs his design approach – providing an out of the box method to problem solving as well as foresight on detailing, logistics and
constructability early in the design process.
While at a former employer, John was lead on projects including The Beverly Center - Room Service in Beverly Hills, California; Wilkes Bashford at Stanford Shopping Centre in Palo Alto, California; Open Air Mall Food Hall in Madinaty, New Cairo, Egypt; and Viva Eve Flagship in Manhattan, New York.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the College of Architecture & Design at Lawrence Technological University, as well as a Master of Architecture with Distinction. John is a Registered Architect in the State of Michigan and is NCARB Certified.
